Pope Bendict XVI: The man Jesus is God made Visible

"The miracles of Christ are not a display of power, but signs of the love of God, which is made present where it encounters the faith of mankind." With these words the Pope greeted the faithful who had gathered in the courtyard of Castel Gandolfo for the recitation of the Angelus. Before the Marian prayer, Benedict XVI, commenting on the day's Gospel, recalled that "the man Jesus of Nazareth is God made visible; in Him, God dwells fully." The incredulity of the people of Nazareth and their lack of openness to the divine dimension in regard to the "son of Mary" not only calls to mind the famous saying "no prophet is welcome among his own people," but also finds a counterpoint in our own time.
